Lawrence Joseph Kirsch

Lawrence Joseph Kirsch, a motion picture chopper pilot, died July 21 in a helicopter crash in Maui, Hawaii. He was 55.

A 25-year veteran of the of the entertainment industry, Kirsch had worked as a helicopter aerial coordinator, cameraship pilot and photo double on numerous features and TV series.

A sampling of his TV credits includes “Airwolf,” “China Beach,” “Fall Guy,” “Love Boat,” “Baywatch,” “Magnum P.I.,” “Simon & Simon” and “Charlie’s Angels.”

Kirsch, who served in the U.S. Army 1967-1970 both as a helicopter pilot and instructor, was awarded an Air Medal for Meritorious Achievement for flying in Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife, Jenny Leah-Kirsch, a TV executive and producer; a son; his mother; five sisters, including Teri Kirsch, a TV associate producer; and a brother.
