Bill “The Fox” Foster

Bill “The Fox” Foster, Los Angeles barroom performer and emcee of Comedy Central’s “The Man Show,” died May 10 at his home in Santa Monica following a prolonged battle with prostate cancer. He was 68.

Foster, known as the ‘World’s Fastest Beer drinker,’ was best known as the proprietor of the eponymously named Fox Inn, a well known West-side tavern, from 1961 to 1989. During the 1980s Foster became a frequent guest star on “The Jeffersons,” “Taxi” and “The Mike Douglas Show.”

A lifetime member of the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce, Foster is survived by a son, a daughter, a brother, and his companion of 24 years, Nancy Grade.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to the University of California Regents, UCLA division of Hermatology/Oncology, 10945 Leconte Ave, Suite 2345C, Los Angeles, CA 90095-16678.
