Publicity vet Neil Schubert has been upped to senior vice president, publicity, advertising and promotion, USA Television Group.
Robert Fleming, prexy of USA Television Group, and Studios USA Programming president David Kissinger made the announcement Tuesday.
Schubert, who continues to report to Kissinger, was previously veepee of publicity, advertising and promotion at Studios USA Television.
Schubert will now handle publicity, advertising and promotion for both Studios USA Television (including series such as “Law & Order”) and USA Cable Entertainment, which distributes original programming for USA Network and the Sci Fi Channel, such as the drama “Cover Me.”
Schubert also oversees media relations, Web site management, special events, charitable contributions, award campaigns and photography.
“Neil is wonderfully imaginative, honest and knowledgeable,” Kissinger said. “It is very exciting for us to extend his responsibilities here at the studio. It is reassuring to know that we will continue to be publicly represented by such an articulate, accurate and seasoned executive.”
Schubert joined Universal Television in June 1995. Prior to that he was senior publicist at Lorimar Television, later Warner Bros. Television, beginning in 1991.
Before that, Schubert was director of advertising, publicity and promotion at Orion Television Entertainment. He started his career at ABC in 1986.
