Attorney Nancy Derwin has been named VP, business affairs and legal, for Paramount Digital Entertainment, a division of Paramount Television Group, part of Viacom’s entertainment operations.
Derwin has spent the past six years in private practice, specializing in entertainment law and new media. She will oversee all business affairs and legal matters for PDE.
“Nancy brings with her a wealth of experience that will be a tremendous asset to the division,” PDE prexy Leonard Washington said. “Her legal expertise in all new-media law, coupled with her formidable traditional entertainment law experience, will contribute greatly to our ongoing growth and success.”
Derwin is the founding co-chair of Women in New Technologies. She’s also a member of the Beverly Hills Bar Assn., where she served as entertainment law section co-chair from 1995-97.
Based in Hollywood, PDE is developing online entertainment in cooperation with distribution and promotional partners, drawing on Paramount’s history in films and television programming combined with state-of-the-art technology.
