HOLLYWOOD — Virgin Interactive Entertainment VP of finance Nora Rothrock has ankled her post to become senior veep of MTVi Europe, it was announced Wednesday.
She will head up the European division of nine MTVi Web sites, including VH1.com and SonicNet.com and is charged to enhance the online advertising, sponsorships and e-tailing plays for these content providers.
Rothrock will report to Brent Hansen, prexy and CEO of MTV Networks Europe, and Nicholas Butterworth, prexy and CEO of the MTVi Group.
“The MTVi Group is committed to developing localized online destinations that cater to the unique cultures of our audiences around the world,” Butterworth said. “I am very confident that Nora will successfully execute on this vision throughout Europe.”
Based in London
She will be based in MTV Network Europe’s corporate headquarters in London and oversee a staff of 75.
“Nora’s strong commercial background, married with her impressive online credentials and musical heritage were the deciding factors in marking this appointment,” Hansen said.
Previous to working at Virgin, Rothrock was co-creator of the Artist Underground Web site, which was sold to music incubator Enigma Digital in 1999.
