Geoff Jackson, a 50-year veteran of the Oz film industry, will step down as regional print manager for 20th Century Fox Intl. on July 1.
The Sydney-based Jackson had been associated with several of Australia’s leading film companies throughout his career. His replacement at Fox will be announced shortly.
Jackson began his career in 1948 with British Empire Films, the former distribution arm of the Greater Union Organization. He also had a stint with Hoyts as national print controller.
During his career at Fox he handled such titles as “Independence Day,” “Titanic” and “Star Wars.”
Dara MacGreevy has been promoted to VP and deputy director, anti-piracy, for Europe, the Middle East and Africa for the Motion Picture Assn.
MacGreevy joined the MPA four years ago as legal counsel for anti-piracy operations and was responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of legal strategies for national programs, supervising litigation and the analysis of legislation affecting copyright protection and enforcement.
MacGreevy will continue to report directly to Nathan Knight, VP and director of antipiracy for the regions.
MTV Networks Latam has upped Adeline Ferro-Delgado to regional director of affil sales from director.
Ferro-Delgado will be responsible for the sales team that promotes the distribution of MTV and Nickelodeon signals throughout the entire region.
Her territory had been Central America, the Caribbean and Andean regions.
Michael Cheng has been named vice president and general manager of MTV Taiwan, based in Taipei.
Before joining the music channel, Cheng was chief director of Taiwan’s CTN entertainment channel and previously worked at satcaster Star TV.
Satcaster Galaxy Latin America has named Philippe Boutaud general manager of Galaxy Brasil.
Boutaud will be responsible for running Galaxy’s DirecTV service, overseeing all of the day-to-day operations, including programming, sales, customer service and marketing.
He joined Galaxy from Johnson & Johnson in Brazil, where he was managing director of consumer products.
Galaxy Latam senior veep Milton Torres remains in Brazil as prexy of that operation, overseeing strategic development and business growth.
