Hachette to fold Mirabella mag

Advertising down 48.8%

NEW YORK — Despite contradicting rumors earlier this month that women’s glossy Mirabella would fold, Hachette Filipacchi prexy Jack Kliger announced Thursday that the June/July 2000 issue will be the last.

“With Mirabella’s continuing lack of advertising support, we did not see the long-term viability for this magazine,” Kliger said. Publishers Information Bureau statistics indicate that first quarter ad pages for 2000 are down 48.8% from last year.
