Wackermann becomes publisher; Steuer exec editor at respective pubs

Two magazines that captured the spirit of downtown Manhattan in the early 1990s are reinventing themselves.

Details, which Fairchild Publications is relaunching in October, has found a new publisher. Bill Wackermann, 34, former associate publisher of Conde Nast Traveler, will join recently appointed editor-in-chief Daniel Peres, 28, in giving the glossy a youthful, new tenor.

Meanwhile, Joseph Steuer, former East Coast film editor at The Hollywood Reporter, is replacing Graham Fuller as executive editor of Interview magazine. Steuer started Hachette-Filipacchi’s short-lived Indie magazine and has written for such mags as Women’s Wear Daily, New York and Esquire, as well as for the New York Post’s Page Six.

Fuller, who was Interview’s executive editor for 10 years, will remain the magazine’s film critic and movie writer at large.
