Zaidan inks for low-six-figure deal with helmer, producer attached

HOLLYWOOD — Recent American Film Institute graduate Michael Zaidan has inked a low-six-figure deal to pen the actioner “The Extremists,” with Christian Duguay (“The Art of War”) attached to helm and Moshe Diamond to produce.

Zaidan is also set to helm the indie feature “Plunge” from his own script. That project is slated for a fall start. Producers are Bruce Weiss and Isabelle Bourduas.

Zaidan, who is serving as a teacher-mentor in AFI’s screenplay development workshop, was awarded the Harold Greenberg Fund screenwriting prize for his drama “Both Hands.”
