MONTREAL — Thesps Piper Perabo, Jessica Pare, and Mischa Barton will topline “Lost and Delirious,” the first English-language pic from helmer Lea Pool. Lensing on the film, which is produced by Cite-Amerique of Montreal and Dummett Films of Toronto, kicked off last week.
Pic is Pool’s first feature since “Set Me Free” (Emporte-Moi).
Perabo, recently included as one of Daily Variety‘s 10 Actresses to Watch, stars in Disney’s upcoming “Coyote Ugly” from producer Jerry Bruckheimer and also appears in Universal’s “The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle” opposite Robert De Niro and Rene Russo.
Pare recently made her bigscreen debut playing the lead in Canadian helmer Denys Arcand’s “Stardom.” Barton appeared in last year’s supernatural hit “The Sixth Sense.”
“Lost” is based on “The Wives of Bath,” a novel by Canuck author Susan Swan, and is adapted for the screen by playwright Judith Thompson. Story is a gay-themed tale of three girls’ secret cult of love and sexuality.
Montreal-based Seville Pictures is distributing in Canada and TF1 Intl., which also handled “Set Me Free,” is handling foreign sales. Pic will be released late this year.
Producers are Richard and Louis-Philippe Rochon of Cite-Amerique and Greg Dummett of Dummett Films.
