Continuing to ramp up its production slate, Trimark Pictures has purchased the script “Redemption” from screenwriter Richard Hatem for a mid-six-figure sum.
Trimark will produce the pic along with Patagonia Pictures; the shingle’s Mark Amin will exec produce, with Peter Bandera producing. Gustavo Graef-Marino will direct.
Psychological thriller concerns a cop who accidentally shoots and kills a Gulf War vet’s girlfriend. The soldier then kidnaps the cop’s wife in revenge and forces him to confess to his crime.
Scribe Hatem was recently tapped to adapt the novel “Plum Island” for Columbia. Previously, he set up “The Mothman Prophecies” at Lakeshore, with Richard Gere attached to star, and “This Body” at Fox 2000.
Veep of production Darin Spillman will oversee the project for Trimark.
