Scribe Bodenkamp tapped for ‘Witch’

Writer to add post-prod'n polish

While Artisan Entertainment has kept mum on the identity of the “Blair Witch 2” writing team, the writer who’ll do the final production polish is now known: Jon Bodenkamp.

Bodenkamp is the scribe and helmer of Next Generation Prods.’s indie pic “Preston Tylk,” which stars Luke Wilson and Dennis Farina. He also has a blind writing commitment with Warner Bros.-based Village Roadshow where his latest script “Taking Lives.” is set up with Gwyneth Paltrow circling.

The development process for “BW2” has been a combination of several commissioned scripts, out of which Artisan and co-producer Haxan Films picked the one they liked best. “What we did was go down various roads with various writers,” Artisan prexy Amir Malin said in early January, stopping well short of naming the winner. Malin called the BW2 storyline “basically… a compilation.”

Award-winning docu helmer Joe Berlinger, who directed the documentaries “Brother’s Keeper” and “Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills,” is set to begin lensing the pic next week, with an eye toward a Halloween rollout.

Bodenkamp is repped by ICM and managed by Graupe Entertainment.
