Scott-Freer taps Schiff-Abrams prod’n veep

Pressman vet will advance current slate, seek new grist for features, TV

Continuing to ramp up its developing and production team, Ridley and Tony Scott’s Scott Free Prods. has enlisted Zach Schiff-Abrams as veep of development and production.

Shingle, which has a first-look pact with Jerry Bruckheimer Films and a second-look deal with Intermedia Films, recently upped Anne Lai to creative executive and Rene Brar to story editor. Julie Payne runs the company’s London office.

In his new position, Schiff-Abrams will be responsible for advancing the current development slate at Scott Free as well as for acquiring new material for both feature and television projects. He reports to Lisa Ellzey, prexy of Scott Free.

“I am very excited to be working with Ridley, Tony and Lisa,” said Schiff-Abrams.

Schiff-Abrams began his career at Ed Pressman’s Pressman Films, where he served for five years, most recently as a creative exec. At Pressman, he worked on such films as “American Psycho,” “Two Girls and a Guy” and “The Crow” franchise.

Ridley Scott will wrap photography on “Hannibal,” starring Anthony Hopkins and Julianne Moore, at the end of August.

Tony Scott is prepping “Spy Game,” which will star Robert Redford and Brad Pitt and will begin lensing in Israel and Budapest.

Scott Free received 13 Emmy nominations for the HBO production “RKO 281,” directed by Ben Ross.
