Propaganda Films has signed a first-look deal with “Arlington Road” director Mark Pellington and his producing partner, Tom Gorai. Under the deal, Propaganda receives first-look rights to all Pellington/Gorai feature film, television and Internet projects and becomes Pellington’s sole representative for his prolific work as a director of commercials and musicvideos.
Besides Pellington directing projects for Propaganda, Pellington/Gorai will also develop projects to produce at the label.
A dramatic series, a short film and a documentary are being eyed as well. All would be released through Propaganda’s output deal with Atomfilms.com.
Propaganda president Rick Hess said the company intends to back Pellington’s next feature, which the writer-director is now scripting. “Mark is one of the most talented directors working in any medium today,” said Hess. “By using all available media and technology, and by continuing to innovate in those areas, we will create an incredible partnership together.”
