PRAGUE — The film scene in Prague continues to flourish, with another high-profile feature set to film here and more on the way.
Universal will bring “The Bourne Identity” to the Czech Republic for at least half of its 12-week shoot, which begins in November. Matt Damon stars in the pic based on Robert Ludlum’s book. Doug Lyman directs.
With a budget north of $50 million, movie should be among the priciest yet to shoot in Prague. Stillking Films handles local production duties for producer Richard Gladstein.
Rival service company Etic looks likely to handle MGM’s “Hart’s War,” based on the John Katzenbach novel. Edward Norton stars as an American POW in the WWII-set film. David Ladd produces and Gregory Hoblit directs.
Though said to be still awaiting an official greenlight, producers have nonetheless put down a deposit for use of Barrandov studios for the three to four month shoot. Filming should begin in January.
