The Independent Film Channel-backed Next Wave Films has signed on to finance “Paper Chasers,” a digital documentary about hip-hop entrepreneurs currently in production under the helm of Maxie Collier.
“Paper Chasers” follows Collier and crew as they travel across America in an RV to interview an assortment of hip-hop business owners. Interviews include actor Jamie Foxx and rapper/exec Chuck D.
“After coming across an assortment of wack Hollywood offers, Next Wave Films stepped forward with a deal that is completely in line with our entrepreneurial and artistic vision,” said Collier.
This is the second feature to receive production financing through Next Wave’s digital production arm, Agenda 2000. The first, Jordan Melamed’s “Manic,” is currently in production.
“Paper Chasers” is Collier’s third feature.
