Actor Daniel Hugh Kelly (“Chill Factor,” “Star Trek IX: Insurrection”) will make his feature directorial debut with the indie “Shooting Blanks,” to star Michael Rapaport, Jennifer Tilly, Adam Goldberg and Seymour Cassel.
Pic will be produced by Todd Thompson and Belinda DeSantis. Production is slated for an October start in Orlando, Fla. Kelly, who has written and directed for stage and television, will play a supporting role.
“Shooting Blanks” is the story of a hit man who realizes the mistakes he has made in his life and wants to change. Accepting a last job from a wealthy woman — the assignment to kill a famed porno director — he makes the mistake of going after the wrong man, who he eventually befriends. He also helps alter the direction of the man’s life.
In the ‘In Crowd’
Kelly recently wrapped the Morgan Creek/WB release “In Crowd,” in which he stars for helmer Mary Lambert, as well as the indie feature “The Guardian” opposite Ice T. He also starred as Robert Reed in the NBC telefilm “Growing Up Brady.”
Kelly’s deal was negotiated by Innovative Artists.
