Some sort of truth is emerging at Warner Bros. and Disney, and it may be “The Ugly Truth,” a script penned by Nicole Eastman and being seriously considered by helmer Barry Sonnenfeld, actress Gwyneth Paltrow and actor Ben Affleck.
Paltrow is in advanced negotiations to star in the pic.
Sonnenfeld, whose deal is at Disney and who has yet to do a project for the Mouse House, is closely considering three projects: “Chippendales,” written by Stephen Schiff; “Big Trouble,” penned by Robert Ramses and Matthew Stone; and “Ugly Truth.” “Truth” tells the story of a romantically challenged woman who receives lessons in love from a sloppily dressed, sexist television personality. Producers are Debra Newmyer, Kimberly di Bonaventura and Bel-Air Entertainment. The project is set up at Warner Bros., though Disney may come aboard if Sonnenfeld signs.
