HOLLYWOOD — Lance Henriksen (Fox TV’s “Millennium”) will star in the $5 million thriller “The Invitation.”
Written and directed by thesp Pat Bermel in his helming debut, “Invitation” is the story of an eccentric and wealthy writer (Henriksen) who has a near-death encounter; afterward, when he invites friends to his island home, they realize he may literally expect them to share his experience.
Matt Huson (“Lost & Found”) produces the pic, with Patrick Ramsay serving as executive producer.
The “Invitation” production is backed by a private group of equity financiers who also funded the Ramsay-exec produced “Here’s to Life!,” starring Ossie Davis and directed by Arne Olson. Overseas Filmgroup reps that film.
Henriksen, who was also featured in “Scream 3” for Miramax/
Dimension, appeared in “The Quick and the Dead.” “Hard Target,” “Aliens” and “Near Dark.”
