J.R. DeLang has been named senior veep of post-production operations of Fox Filmed Entertainment.
DeLang will oversee divisions of the company including sound and video post-production services, technical services and library services. He reports to Simon Bax, chief financial officer and prexy of studio operations.
DeLang is a 20-year film biz exec. He joins Fox after a 13-year stint with Todd AO, where he started in sales and marketing, rising through the ranks to become chief operating officer.
At Todd AO, DeLang was instrumental in the growth of the company’s Todd AO Studios, which became the largest independent sound post-production facility in the world and provided services for more than 50 feature films and 400-plus hours of television programming annually.
During his tenure, Todd AO serviced three Academy Award-winning films for sound: “Saving Private Ryan,” “Apollo 13” and “The Last of the Mohicans.”
As chief operating officer of the Todd Corp., DeLang oversaw the company’s domestic and international expansion, including video and sound facilities in New York, Atlanta, London and Barcelona.
