Tenpercentery Endeavor has signed London-based LolaFilms U.K., a subsid of Spain’s largest production company. Agency will rep the company in North American sales of its first four English-lingo pics and act as a consultant.
“We’re here to grow their English-language production,” explained Sergio Aguero, an Endeavor agent whose specialty is the distribbing and financing of international pictures.
LolaFilms U.K. was formed last May as an English-lingo production outfit and international sales arm. It’s aiming for 10 pics a year, four to five of them in English.
Aguero called LolaFilms’ plan “the most ambitious film program ever by a Spanish company.”
In addition to finding talent for LolaFilms U.K.’s future pics, Endeavor will assist in securing North American distribs for its current slate of English-lingo pics:
- “Girl From Rio,” a Hugh Laurie starrer helmed by Christopher Monger (“Just Like a Woman”).
- John Malkovich’s directing debut, “The Dancer Upstairs.”
- “Gaudi Afternoon,” helmed by Susan Seidelman (“A Cooler Climate”) and starring Judy Davis.
- “Off Key,” an operatic send-up of the Three Tenors helmed by Manuel Gomez Pereira (“Entre la piernas”).
