NEW YORK — Code Red, the acquisitions and distribution boutique unveiled at Cannes 2000, has acquired its third film, “Just One Time.”
A romantic comedy in which a soon-to-be-married couple dabble in bisexuality, “Just One Time” marks the directorial debut of Lane Janger.
Produced by Janger, Jasmine Kosovic, Exile Ramirez and Jeff Roth, pic stars Janger, Joelle Carter, Guillermo Diaz and Jennifer Esposito. Janger previously produced “I Like It Like That” and “I Think I Do.”
Code Red, which will distribute up to 10 films a year, is a joint venture of Cowboy Booking and Antidote Films. Its first acquisition, “George Washington,” took top honors at the Newport Film Festival last weekend.
“Just One Time” will open in New York and L.A. on Aug. 25, with a national rollout to follow.
Charlotte Mickie from Alliance Atlantis Pictures and James Adams from Schreck, Rose & Dapello negotiated the deal with Code Red.
