MUNICH — German film upstart Advanced Medien has come on board MGM’s Jennifer Love Hewitt starrer “Heartbreakers.”
Company has acquired the German-speaking rights and an equity stake in the MGM production via a co-financing agreement struck with the U.K.’s Winchester Films, which controls the pic’s worldwide sales.
Pic will be released by Advanced in Germany and could go out through its recent distribution agreement with UIP. That pact kicks off with “Bless the Child.”
Advanced has already sold the “Heartbreakers” video/DVD rights to Universum/BMG, a subsid of the RTL Group.
Free TV rights have gone to the pubcasters rights trading arm Telepool, with which Advanced recently established a joint venture.
Deal comes in the wake of Advanced’s first studio co-financing role in MGM’s “Ghost World.” Company also commands a co-financing agreement with Chuck Gordon and the U.K.’s Granada.
