Dhow Countries fest slated

Zanzibar to provide travelling show, low-cost admissions

JOHANNESBURG — The Festival of the Dhow Countries, organized by the Zanzibar International Film Festival, will take place from June 30 to July 9.

Fest celebrates the culture and arts of Africa, India, Pakistan, Iran, the Gulf States and the Indian Ocean Islands.

As part of its mission to bring the arts to the people on the island of Zanzibar, off the coast of Tanzania, and in the region, the festival will feature low-cost admissions for events and there will be a traveling Village Panorama program to rural areas on Zanizibar and the Pemba islands off Kenya.
