Specktor joins Rightscenter.com

Site aims to aid rights purchasing

Veteran film industry exec Matthew Specktor has been named to head the Los Angeles office of RightsCenter.com, which specializes in aiding the purchase of literary rights over the Internet.

Specktor was most recently vice president of production for Fox 2000, running its New York scouting and development office before it was closed. Specktor had opened Jersey Films’ Gotham office in 1996 after beginning his career as a development executive at Tribeca Prods.

Web site, based in Palo Alto, is designed to allow publishers, agents, subagents and scouts to conduct business securely over the Web. “With Matthew’s relationships and overall savvy, he will be a great asset for our company,” said Kip Parent, president and founder.

“I’m a great admirer of all the company has achieved in the publishing world, and this seems to answer an obvious need in the Hollywood community,” Specktor said.
