Latin music site inks Sony distribution deal

Ritmoteca to feature artists, access to Sony catalog

MIAMI — Latin music Web site Ritmoteca.com has inked a digital distribution deal with Sony Music Entertainment.

Ritmoteca will feature Sony Music artists on its homepage and create a dedicated Sony Music Lounge, featuring artists including Gloria Estefan, Jennifer Lopez, Jon Secada and Jaci Velasquez.

Ritmoteca will have access to Sony’s catalog for digital downloading and streaming. It already has rights to over 200,000 music tracks.

Separately, Ritmoteca has teamed with Rio, a division of Sonicblue, to provide sample Latin music pre-loaded onto Rio’s new personal digital music player.

Under the agreement, Joy Enriquez’s “Tell Me How You Feel,” co-written by the artist and producers Soulshock and Karlin, will be preloaded onto 250,000 Rio 800 players for distribution in North America, Europe and Japan.
