MIAMI — Turner Broadcasting’s Latam channel CNN en Espanol, and Internet sites CNNenEspanol.com and CNNBrasil.com have formed a $20 million multimedia strategic alliance with Salutia, a ‘Net health site.
Salutia, founded in October, provides health information and news to consumers and medical and health-care professionals for Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking users. It merged with U.S. health portal MedicoUno in February, and the new company has offices in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Spain and the United States.
The multiyear deal will cover different platforms, including television, Internet and radio.
The terms of the agreement include the production of Salutia-sponsored interactive health specials. Salutia will supply information for the health and wellness broadcast programs of CNN en Espanol, and the health sections of CNNenEspanol.com and CNNBrasil.com. In turn, Salutia will receive international news and information from the two online services.
Salutia also will receive ad time on the pan-regional pay TV network as well as the two sites, while Turner Broadcasting System will take an undisclosed minority equity stake in Salutia.
