Video co. sees 13% rise, awaits 'Sense,' 'Pie,' 'Sleepy' debuts

BERLIN — Teutonic video giant VCL Film + Medien surpassed its own growth forecast in the first quarter with a 13% rise in revenues to DM17 million ($8.3 million) and a tripling of its earnings before interest, taxes and depreciation to $5.1 million, the company reported.

VCL said the year will bring even stronger growth in video and DVD sales as its stable of planned releases includes theatrical hits “The Sixth Sense,” “Sleepy Hollow” and “American Pie.”

The Munich-based outfit is also involved in film production and licensing.”
