Music portal ArtistDirect reported a net loss of $14 million Wednesday, compared with a loss of $5.5 million for the same period a year ago. Revenues were up to $5.6 million from $2 million for the second quarter last year. Shares of ArtistDirect fell about 2% to close at $3.31. Besides being a network of Web sites and e-commerce outlet for musicians like Tori Amos, the Backstreet Boys and k.d. lang, ArtistDirect operates a record label and a talent agency.
