Warner Bros. TV has upped vet exec Roni Mueller to head of business affairs for the studio.
Mueller will retain her current title of senior veep but has been given additional responsibility over all aspects of WBTV’s talent and network negotiations as well as daily operations of the biz affairs unit. Promotion comes following the elevation of former biz affairs topper Craig Hunegs to executive vice president of the studio (Daily Variety, March 1).
“Roni is the natural choice to lead our business affairs team,” said Hunegs. “She has extensive experience, close relationships throughout our company and the industry and extraordinarily creative deal-making skills.”
Mueller will report to Hunegs.
Since joining WBTV in 1987 — when the company was still known as Lorimar Television — Mueller has been a key member of the studio’s negotiating team, helping to broker high-profile deals for “The Drew Carey Show,” “Friends,” “Norm,” “Veronica’s Closet” and “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”
