BERLIN — The pan-European media venture set up by Germany’s Kirch Group and Italy’s Mediaset early last year has been officially dubbed the Epsilon Media Group.
Name replaces the working title Eureka, which the companies have used to date.
Epsilon Motion Pictures is the company’s feature film production division; its TV production arm will be called Epsilon TV Prods.
Epsilon TV Network will oversee the group’s broadcasting activities.
For the first time, at April’s Mip TV tradeshow in Cannes, Kirch’s rights trading arm Beta Film, now part of the new entity, will be presented as Epsilon Media Group.
Epsilon, an equal co-venture of the two companies, consists of select programming rights as well as broadcasting, production and advertising assets from its parent companies.
