Prominent entertainment attorney Deborah Klein, whose clients include Jim Carrey, Samuel L. Jackson and Sarah Michelle Gellar, will join Santa Monica-based Barnes Morris & Yorn as a name partner. Firm will be redubbed Barnes, Morris, Klein & Yorn.
Klein joins her new firm after 12 years with well-known Beverly Hills firm Bloom, Hergott, Cook, Diemer and Klein, where she was a name partner. Klein’s client list also includes Lauren Holly, Jada Pinkett Smith, Denise Richards, Jay Mohr and Vince Vaughn. She is expected to take most of her clients with her.

Klein is a graduate of UC Berkeley and USC’s law school. She spent two years at Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher before joining Bloom Hergott. She is married to Mort Marcus, formerly prexy of Buena Vista Television and now exec VP of sales and development at Go.com.
Barnes, Morris & Yorn, a fast-growing 4-year-old firm, now numbers 10 attorneys. Since its inception, the firm has focused on the converging worlds of corporate finance, new media and entertainment. It boasts Artists Management Group as a client, as well as some deeper connections: Name partner Kevin Yorn is the brother of AMG principal Rick Yorn, and AMG partner Julie Yorn, Rick Yorn’s sister-in-law, manages Samuel L. Jackson, a Klein client.
