As part of its efforts to pursue bigger-budget, higher-profile projects, producer-distributor Kushner-Locke has tapped Rob Aft prexy of international distribution.
Aft will be responsible for film and TV sales and will seek out international production and financing partnerships and media opportunities for the company, which may include e-commerce, co-chairman Peter Locke told Daily Variety.
Kushner-Locke owns a 55% stake in U.S. Search.com, a publicly traded, fee-based Web reference system, and may expand its Internet business, Locke said.
Pushed ‘Eye,’ ‘Body’
Aft was previously senior veep at Behavior Worldwide, where he oversaw international sales and operations for such pics as Destination’s forthcoming “Eye of the Beholder,” starring Ewan McGregor; the just-wrapped Antonio Banderas-Olivia Williams starrer “The Body”; and 1995’s “Johnny Mnemonic.”
Locke went on to deny reports that the company was preparing to put itself on the block. Kushner-Locke recently hired Prudential Securities as financial adviser in the wake of fluctuating share prices.
