Hallmark Entertainment Networks is extending its foreign channel franchise by setting up dedicated advertising operations in India, Taiwan and the Philippines.
The Indian advertising offshoot is expected to launch in April, and the Taiwan and Philippine services in June.
In conjunction with these efforts, HEN has appointed Gregory Ang, formerly of Discovery Channel, as VP and director of advertising sales for HEN Asia Pacific. His job is to spearhead advertising sales efforts throughout the region.
HEN has also promoted Terence Yau to VP and managing director of the company’s two channels in the region, Hallmark Entertainment and the Kermit Channel. Yau is one of the few native Asians to head an international network in the region.
Prior to HEN Asia Pacific, Yau worked with various multinational orgs including ESPN Star Sports and Hong Kong’s TVB International.
HEN is distributed via satellite in some 70 territories; the Kermit Channel is so far available only in Asia.
