Glover exits Morris for United Talent

Partnership with Rifkin unaffected

Thesp and producer Danny Glover has signed with United Talent Agency after more than 10 years with the William Morris Agency.

Glover’s longtime association with Arnold Rifkin continues with the two working as partners on projects Glover produces.

Best known for his portrayals of police detective Roger Murtaugh opposite Mel Gibson in the “Lethal Weapon” series, Glover has recently completed work on director John Berry’s film version of the Athol Fugard play “Boseman and Lena,” co-starring Angela Bassett.

Shows ‘Courage’

He also recently exec produced the TNT original movie “Freedom Song” and exec produced and hosted “Courage,” the one-hour series about true tales of heroism that premieres on the Fox Family Channel tonight.

Glover is a current Emmy nominee for outstanding supporting actor in a miniseries or movie for “Freedom Song.”

A native of San Francisco, Glover attended San Francisco State College and trained at the Black Actors’ Workshop of the American Conservatory. In 1998, Glover was appointed Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Program. He has traveled the world extensively on behalf of the UNDP.

His feature credits include “To Sleep With Anger,” “A Rage in Harlem,” “Grand Canyon,” “The Color Purple,” “Gone Fishin’,” “Angels in the Outfield” and “Beloved.”
