RIO DE JANEIRO — Longtime TV exec Daniel Filho has ankled his position as director of the Globo Creation Center and will become a consultant.
Move means Filho will no longer be in charge of telenovelas, the most popular type of programming in Brazil. TV Globo, the top broadcaster, is the leading producer of telenovelas. A film and TV actor, director and exec, Filho has held several key positions within TV Globo and is credited as one of the executives behind the broadcaster’s growth.
“Daniel Filho will be in charge of new series and other fiction projects. He will be a consultant,” said a TV Globo spokeswoman.
Mario Lucio Vaz, director of Globo’s Quality Control Center, will assume Filho’s former duties.
