Post production conglom Four Media Co. said Friday it has acquired SVC Television Ltd. in a cash deal valued at $5.3 million.
Acquisition gives Four Media its third post facility in the United Kingdom, as it ramps up its international operations.
Burbank-based Four Media has been mirroring Liberty Media Group and Todd-AO in expanding its overall operations by acquiring small houses and folding them under its banner.
Shares snapped up
As part of the deal, Four Media has acquired all of the outstanding shares of SVC Television from the existing shareholders.
Founded in 1973, SVC operates in the Soho district of London and provides editing, design, and visual f/x services to producers of television advertising in the U.K. and other European markets.
Capabilities include a production studio, compositing, animation, telecine and finishing.
Leverage in Europe
“The acquisition of SVC significantly enhances our presence in the U.K. market and augments our ability to offer the full range of products and services to our European clients,” said Robert T. Walston, chairman and CEO of Four Media Co.
“SVC has excellent relationships with the commercial production industry, and we look forward to working with them. This acquisition represents another important step in our strategy of expanding the global outsourcing solutions for our entertainment industry clients,” he added.
Through the purchase, SVC is looking to increase its own client list and offerings under the Four Media umbrella.
Four Media Co. offers services to owners, producers and distributors of TV programming, feature films and other entertainment product, both domestically and internationally.
Four Media also operates the PostBox, TVP Videodubbing, TVP Digital Media and TVI Ltd. post houses in London.
