NEW YORK — Julia Dray has been named president of production of Horseshoe Bay Prods., which is run by producer Gary Foster and writer-director Mark Steven Johnson.
Dray had spent the past three years at Robert Simonds Prods., where she exec produced “Head Over Heels,” an upcoming Universal comedy starring Freddie Prinze Jr. and Monica Potter, and the Norm Macdonald comedy “Pittsburgh,” which will mark the directorial debuts of Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. Before that, the Brown graduate was an exec at Walt Disney Pictures; she began her career at Columbia Pictures.
Dray joins the Buena Vista-based company at a particularly busy time. Horseshoe Bay is prepping the Frank Oz-directed Robert De Niro starrer “The Score” for Mandalay Pictures and the Richard Gere starrer “One for the Ages” at New Line. At Disney, Horseshoe Bay has brought in Ron Shelton for a script polish on “Get a Life,” a pic that Nora Ephron is producing with Foster and Johnson.
Johnson also is scripting the live-action “Pooh” for Walt Disney Pictures.
