SYDNEY — Marie Jacobson has been appointed senior VP of programming for Columbia TriStar Television Intl. in Los Angeles.
Jacobson, a former Comedy Central programmer and American native, is currently chief exec of Oz cable channel TV1.
Reporting to Columbia exec veep Jon Petrovich, Jacobson will be responsible for program development and acquisitions as well as channel development, launches and branding for Columbia’s international television properties, which include AXN, Sony Entertainment and a stake in Oz moviecaster the Premium Movie Partnership’s Showtime Australia.
Jacobson, who will remain on the board of TV1, takes up her Columbia role in November.
She will be replaced at TV1 by Peter Hudson, who currently heads the Multi Channel Network, the ad sales arm of Rupert Murdoch’s Foxtel.
