Artisan Entertainment has upped Amorette Jones to the position of exec VP, worldwide marketing, of Artisan Pictures. Jones will manage day-to-day operations of Artisan’s theatrical marketing department, formulate release strategies on Artisan films and oversee Artisan’s consumer products division.
For the past two years, Jones served as Artisan Pictures’ senior VP of marketing, where she was instrumental in the creation and implementation of several of the marketing elements for “The Blair Witch Project” as well as that film’s ongoing licensing campaign. Jones also worked on the theatrical campaigns of “Buena Vista Social Club” and “Stir of Echoes,” among many others.
Artisan president Amir Malin noted: “Amorette has proven her marketing skills time and again, and her experience in the consumer products arena has already been of great benefit to Artisan. Her knowledge of her craft coupled with an in-depth understanding of current trends and popular culture will help take our films and properties to another level.”
