NEW YORK — WMA public relations exec Jeffrey W. Schneider has been appointed VP, media relations, ABC News.
Effective Sept. 5, Schneider will report to Patricia J. Matson, ABC senior VP of communications, and ABC News prexy David Westin. Based in New York, Schneider will oversee all aspects of communications and media relations for ABC News and its programs, including “Good Morning America,” “World News Tonight,” “20/20” and “Nightline,” as well as docu specials and breaking news reports.
Schneider replaces Eileen Murphy, who ankled the Alphabet web in March to join Primedia.
Prior to joining William Morris in January 1999 as director of public relations, Schneider was director of corporate communications for Hachette Filipacchi Magazines, where he oversaw 29 magazine titles. He was previously a senior VP at Rubenstein Associates.
