Producers Paula Mazur and Robert Mickelson have been tapped co-presidents of Abandon Entertainment’s film arm, Abandon Pictures.
Under their first-look deal, the duo will continue to develop projects under the Abandon label. The pair have the upcoming feature “Pros and Cons,” which preemed in February at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival, on deck as well as a number of pictures in the works; offbeat laffer “Off the Lip,” which marks Mickelson’s directorial debut, is in post-production.
“Paula and Robert are innovative filmmakers who will bring a new level of energy and expertise to Abandon. We have an exciting slate for the coming year, and with Paula and Robert helming the company, we look forward to a very productive and fruitful partnership,” said Abandon Pictures chair Karen Lauder.
“We are thrilled to further our partnership with Abandon and will continue to produce commercial pictures which have original spin,” Mazur added.
Mazur, whose producing credits include “Corrina, Corrina” and “The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe,” is set to exec produce HBO’s adaptation of the Obie Award-winning play “The Vagina Monologues.”
