Jennifer Lopez, Mira Sorvino, Madonna and Susan Sarandon have been added to the roster of presenters for the Sept. 9 “1999 MTV Video Music Awards.”
In addition, MTV announced that ‘N Sync, Bush’s Gavin Rossdale, Jay Mohr, Janeane Garofalo, Dr. Dre, Christina Aguilera, Method Man and Pamela Anderson Lee will also present awards at the event.
Britney Spears, Eminem and Moby have been added as performers at the event.
MTV also announced that it has signed 12 advertisers as official sponsors for MTV’s marquee event, said John Shea, senior VP, marketing for MTV.
This year’s sponsors will be AT&T for Collect Calls, Levi Strauss & Co., M&M Mars, Pepsi, Sega, Taco Bell, Best Buy, Blockbuster, Fox, Nike, the Office of National Drug Control Policy and Sony Electronics.
Advertisers typically have to buy at least $5 million worth of ad time on MTV to sponsor the VMAs, said Madison Avenue sources.
“The 1999 VMAs” be broadcast live from the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City on Sept. 9.
