NEW YORK — Former “Savannah” siren Jamie Luner has been tapped to replace Ally Walker as the lead in NBC’s returning drama “Profiler.”
Walker, who plays Dr. Sam Waters, is ankling the skein this fall, two episodes into the new season (Daily Variety, June 15). Luner will make her debut in the “Profiler” fourth-season premiere, playing a former prosecutor-turned-FBI agent.
Luner first attracted notice in WB’s “Savannah.” Following its demise, she joined the cast of Fox’s “Melrose Place,” which bowed out last season.
Separately, NBC announced that thesp Ming-Na (formerly known as Ming-Na Wen) will rejoin the cast of “ER” next season.
The actress, who had a regular part on the Thursday drama during its first year, will reprise her role as med student Deb Chen.
Ming-Na left “ER” to co-star in the NBC laffer “The Single Guy.” Her other credits include voicing the title character in Disney’s animated “Mulan” and co-starring in 1993’s “The Joy Luck Club.”
