Scribes Mark Levin and Jennifer Flackett have inked a drama development pact with Studios USA TV, which has clinched a pilot deal with CBS for the pair’s romantic comedy/mystery project, “Mysteries of 71st Street.”
“Mysteries” follows a young married couple in Gotham as they “delve into the mysteries of modern life, both large and small.” It’s described as a cross between “Mad About You” and “Murder, She Wrote,” wherein the couple focus on real people who are pulled into unusual adventures.
Studios USA TV prexy David Kissinger praised married writing-producing partners Levin and Flackett for their “great storytelling with tremendous wit, insight and invention.”
Levin and Flackett most recently have been penning screenplays, including last year’s “Madeline” and “Speed Racer,” and the upcoming Working Title romantic comedy “Two Weeks in Love.”
Levin’s past TV credits include “The Wonder Years” and “Earth 2,” which he co-created and exec produced. Flackett has worked as a writer on the Steven Bochco series “Civil Wars” and “L.A. Law.” Pair is repped by manager Gavin Polone of Hofflund/Polone, ICM’s Nancy Josephson and Paul Haas and attorney Don Walerstein.
