Lions Gate TV has upped Kevin Beggs to exec VP of series, while Ellen Burditt has been elevated to senior veep of drama series.
Beggs, who had been senior veep of drama series, will now oversee all series development for the Canadian indie. Burditt will focus on the drama arena after working closely with Beggs on development projects since January.
Dennis Miller, prexy of Lions Gate TV, credited Beggs with selling the drama series “Cliffhangers” and “Hope Island” to Paramount Intl. TV, Lions Gate’s production partner on the shows. Beggs also sealed the deal with Fox Family Channel for “Cliffhanger” and with Pax TV for “Hope Island.”
“Kevin and Ellen have successfully moved Lions Gate Television into the dramatic series arena,” Miller said. “They have put together a strong development slate that should further grow Lions Gate’s series business.”
Beggs came to Lions Gate last year after serving as veep of development for Berk/Schwartz/Bonann, home of “Baywatch.” He also worked as a producer on “Baywatch” and the syndie drama “Thunder in Paradise.”
Before signing on with Lions Gate, Burditt had been senior veep of development for Cosgrove-Meurer Prods. She also served stints as a development exec with De Passe Entertainment and Warner Bros. TV.
