If you happen to spot a smiling sitcom star tooling around Burbank in a shiny new silver Porsche this week, it’s probably just a cast member of NBC’s “Will & Grace.”
As a token of appreciation for a solid frosh year, Peacock brass Friday gave the show’s four main thesps — Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally — identical convertible Porsche Boxters. Cars are valued at just under $100,000 each.
“It was a nice way for us to say thank you for a great first season,” said NBC Studios veepee Dave Bartus.
Bartus, along with NBC West Coast prexy Scott Sassa and Peacock entertainment topper Garth Ancier, presented the “Will” foursome with the keys to the Porsches right after taking the actors out to lunch Friday.
“We walked out into the parking lot and said, ‘There’s one for each of you,'” Bartus said. “They seemed truly shocked.”
NBC’s successful sitcom stars have taken home glitzy gifts in the past. “Frasier” star Kelsey Grammer once got a brand new Viper, while last Christmas, Warner Bros. Television gave each of the six “Friends” co-stars $200,000 bonuses.
