Jim Belushi and Gregory Hines are set to star in Showtime Networks’ “Unanswered Questions,” an original drama pic for the cabler about two journalists who discover a man was wrongfully convicted for murdering 20 children in Atlanta.
Charles Robert Carner, who scripted and helmed Showtime’s “The Fixer,” is set to helm “Questions,” based on his own script about the 1970s Atlanta killings and suspect Wayne Williams.
Mark Victor and Michael Grais (“Poltergeist”) will executive produce the pic through their management and production outfit, along with Rudy Langlais (“Sugar Hill”). Production begins Sept. 24 in Toronto.
Carner, who is also set to script and helm “The Spear of Destiny” for Showtime, based on the cult novel by Trevor Ravenscroft, is repped by Victor and Grais’ management firm, VGS.
Victor & Grais Prods. most recently wrapped “Christina’s House,” starring Brad Rowe (“Billy’s Hollywood Screen Kiss”), and is developing the remake of “I Married a Witch” at Columbia, with Frank Price and Cruise/Wagner Prods from a script by Robert Harling (“First Wives Club”).
Creative Artist Agency’s Brian Siberall negotiated the deal.
