Engel pacts with Fox TV

'Work' creator gets multiyear deal

Stephen Engel, who created the short-lived sitcom “Work With Me” for CBS this season, has signed an exclusive multiyear development deal with Twentieth Century Fox TV.

Terms of the pact were not disclosed. Engel’s deal is expected to begin in June.

He most recently exec produced “Work With Me,” the Kevin Pollack-Nancy Travis starrer from Universal and CBS Prods. that was cut last week after four installments.

Engel began his writing career on HBO’s “Dream On” in 1992, working his way to co-executive producer of the cable laffer in 1995.

From there he moved to Brillstein-Grey’s “Just Shoot Me,” where he served as a co-exec producer in 1996. He shifted in 1997 to “Alright Already,” the short-lived WB sitcom from Brillstein-Grey that starred Carol Leifer.

He returned to “Just Shoot Me” in 1998 as a consulting producer before creating “Work With Me” this year.

Engel is repped by Ted Miller and Michael Rosenfeld at Creative Artists Agency.
