NEW YORK — ABC’s Disney-produced kidvid sked has wrapped up its second consecutive season-long win among broadcast competish, holding onto the crown despite a strong challenge from Fox Kids Network.
Alphabet web averaged a 3.2 rating and 15 share with tots 2-11, just edging out Fox (3.1/14), according to final Nielsen data for the kiddie season, which ended May 22. Both webs were down vs. last season, dropping 9% and 11%, respectively.
“Pokemon”-powered Kids’ WB may have been the season’s biggest winner. Its 2.2/10 season-long average was the best ever for the kiddie web and marked a 5% gain from the previous season, making Kids’ WB the only Saturday ayem player to post year-to-year growth.
CBS, which switched to a Nelvana-produced ani sked last fall, averaged a 0.8/3 share with kids 2-11, up 33% vs. the previous season’s 0.6 but still below NBC’s teen-targeted sked (1.0/4).
Once again, kiddie cabler Nickelodeon outrated all of its broadcast competish on Saturday mornings, averaging a 4.2/19 among kids 2-11 with its lineup of repeats — a 35% advantage over ABC. Nick was down 2% year-to-year.
